Handsome Possum has been around for a while. At 7+ years old, Sir L. Possum still has the mind of a kit, but unfortunately not the body. Possum suffered multiple serious injuries by the time he was a year old, including being slammed in a car door which fractured several bones. Some of these injuries have contributed to the lumbar spondylosis he suffers today.
Possum is not very particular. He loves his soup and his Ferretone, and lots of snuggles. He gives lots of kisses in return. Keeping Possum comfortable and mobile is our goal. The NAFAR shelter is always in need of food (Zupreem grain free, EVO grain free turkey), Swheatscoop, pee pads, paper towels and donations for our ever growing veterinary bills, currently over $1500. Even after generous discounts. More than half our ferrets are seniors (6-9 years) and/or in hospice care. This past year we were able to move the adoptable ferrets out to our new building which still needs finishing touches (like vinyl flooring). This project took priority over the enclosed outdoor play area we had intended to build, so the play yard was pushed back until spring. A big investment, but our fuzzies are worth it.
