Cookie came to the shelter from animal control last July because her owners simply “didn’t want her anymore”. There will be no reindeer games this year for Cookie as her only friend, Hunny, recently moved on to the Rainbow Bridge and Cookie doesn’t like any other ferrets.
One day while hanging out in the kitchen, a cucumber rolled out of a shopping bag without shelter mom knowing. In about a second and a half Cookie relocated that cucumber under the ottoman and had her way with it. What she did to that thing was unspeakable. She didn’t eat it, but she shredded it into a million pieces. It’s her new favorite activity – vegetable disembowelment. We don’t give her vegetables, but she’ll stalk you when you’re in the kitchen. Those eyes just shout PULLLEEEEZE, mommy, gibes me a cumber, pwease, or maybe an apple……me feels like someting sweets today.
Cookie is on Melatonin implants and is adrenal. She will need a surgery soon, so she can find her forever home – where the humans will never, ever say they don’t want her anymore. Yes, Cookie, there is a Santa and a place like that – just for you.
A donation to our vet to help get Cookie her surgery would be wonderful. Or a donation to our shelter account at Totally Ferret will keep Cookie and all her friends fed! Thank you for helping her stay healthy!
